On autoplay, AppleTV keeps repeating the same episodes

While rewatching a series I purchased on iTunes, AppleTV is getting hung up on some episodes. For example, tonight it played episode 15, then episode 16, then went back to episode 15. I selected episode 17 from my library, and, when it was over, AppleTV played episode 15 for a third time.

Episode 15 also continues to show up in “Up Next”.

It is happening on both my AppleTVs.

Is there anyway to fix this without turning off autoplay?

Try this:

Click-and-hold the misbehaving episode in the Up Next queue list. This would bring up a contextual menu. Select ‘Mark Episode as Watched’.
