Every since I updated my iPad with the latest 15.3.1 iOS update, my email is taking an extremely long time to load or sometimes the mail app just closes. I even turned it off and on but it did not resolve the issue. Any way to fix this?

If the Mail app on your iPad is slow to load and is closing unexpectedly, follow these steps to start:
• Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
• Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

If this continues, does this happen with every Wi-Fi network you connect your iPad with or only when it’s connected to a specific network? If something else is happening, please provide more details and if you are getting an error of some kind.

This is what had to on both my iPhone and iPad. It was a pain in the butt but it is working again.
I have same problem as everyone else, when are you going to fix it!

Add me to the list. Mail takes forever to load gmail emails - it’s almost unusable.
Me too, started yesterday out of the blue. Rebooting didn’t help. Gmail in the mail app takes forever to load the body.

Have you tried updating to 15.5 as your post said 15.3 and the latest is now iOS 15.5?

The same here. Very frustrating.
So we have a new update…. I got very excited!!! And the update has made no difference!! COME AN APPLE SORT THIS OUT, emails are taking forever to download and it’s not on!!!

This is now fixed for me with the upgrade to IOS 15.6 today
I finally found how to turn on my .mac account on the iPad and mails load fast. Will report back tomorrow and see if this last IOS update fixes the issue.
Well this sucks. All the “helpful” answers show no resolution. So Apple, fix it.
