Mom not getting text messages

My mom and I both have iphones and have had the same phones for over a year. Recently, when I text my mom and dad, my mom does not get the text message (dad does). When I text mom individually, she does get it. Both our phones have SMS, MMS, iMessage, and Group Texts turned ON. We have turned them all off on both phones, restarted our phones, turned SMS/MMS/iMessage/Group texts back on, restarted, and nothing is working. I deleted my mom from my phone and added her back and that didn’t work. I am not in her blocked contacts. She gets group messages from other people. Just not between me and my dad. We both get the group text from my dad to me and her. Just not from me to my mom and dad (but my dad gets it).

Hi there desheadley,

If your mother is unable to see your messages in one group message, let’s first ensure all the devices in this one group message are fully updated using these steps:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see two software update options available, choose the one that you want to install.

If this continues after everything is updated, try to create another group message involving you, your mother and one other person that is not your father. If your mother receives your messages without issue in this new group message, then we would recommend reaching out to your and your mother’s wireless carrier to ensure everything looks correct on their end.

If your mother does not receive your texts in another group message, then we would advise contacting Apple Support to get the best assistance going forward.

Thank you so much. I followed your steps and I tried another group text with my mother and brother and she did get that! So it’s just between me, my mom and my dad. I’ll reach out to our carriers (we have different carriers), but I’m never optimistic they can help. Thank you for your help!
