My display suddenly shows all the windows open on my Mac

Sometimes my screen on my Mac shows my currently open window become smaller, and if there are any other windows open, it shows those too. How do I turn this feature off?

Mac Pro, macOS 12.2

Sounds like the Mission Control Exposé feature.

Ctrl+Up Arrow will expose all your open windows by zooming and tiling the windows, this lets you quickly click on a different window to switch applications. Ctrl+Down Arrow will do it for the selected application. If you had multiple Safari windows open it would only show those as an example. The F3 key will also execute an all apps Exposé function or the Touch Bar. System Preferences -> Mission Control -> change the Ctrl+Up / Down Arrows to "-" to disable them.

The trackpad has gestures you can use to perform the Exposé function. Swiping up with 3 fingers will perform Exposé. If App Exposé is turned on then 3 finger down swipe would only expose the applications open windows. System Preferences -> Trackpad -> More Gestures -> Mission Control / App Exposé.

There is also a Hot Corners option to perform an Exposé when putting the mouse cursor into one of the four corners. System Preferences -> Mission Control -> Hot Corners
