iOS 15.3.1 updated IPad but having issues

so finally got 15.3.1 to update on ipad 9.7wifi only with assistance of laptop. Now ipad is flashing a black screen to apple icon white screen for 10-15 min before it goes to logon screen. Will eventually find wifi, works for maybe 5 minutes then back to flashing. I have reinstalled, updated drivers, cleaned out unnecessary apps, have hi speed internet and loads of hard drive, a new laptop and stopped the 6 digit login as suggested in the many fixes I’ve investigated. Our newer iPad downloaded the update and functions fine. Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

As described, the software update may have been unsuccessful. You’ll need to restore your iPad to Factory Settings - which will install a fresh copy of iPadOS 15.3.1. At the end of the restore process, you’ll be able to restore your data from your iCloud or iTunes backup.

In such a situation, reading also the troubleshooting steps you already performed, it might be a hardware (battery? other internal component?) problem, but we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that kind of issue remotely, sorry.

I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Regards

Giulio
