Time Capsule not recognized by M1 MacBook Air.

I had a 2017 MacBook Air running Monterey. It was connected to a 27" Thunderbolt Display. I have a Time Capsule connected through ethernet from the Display to the Time Capsule. Internet is turned off. Only used it for Time Machine backup. Just replaced the MacBook Air with a new M1 MacBook Air. Connected to the display with a USB-C to Thunderbolt Connector. Time Capsule no longer recognizes the MacBook. Have tried resetting Time Capsule settings but still doesn't recognize the MacBook. Any Ideas?

Sorry, not sure what you mean when you say that the Time Capsule does not "recognize" the new M1 MacBook Air.

Does this mean that you cannot "see" the Time Capsule under the "Locations" heading on the left panel of any Finder window?

Does this mean that if you open AirPort Utility on your M1 MacBook Air that the Mac cannot even "see" the Time Capsule in the network display window?

Or, does this mean something else? If yes, can you provide some more details please? What is it that you want to accomplish?

The new M1 MacBook Air will not be able to "see" any of the Time Machine backups on your 2017 MacBook Air on your Time Capsule, since Macs can only "see" the Time Machine backups that they have made. In other words, Macs cannot "see" the Time Machine backups made by other Macs, if that might be what you are trying to describe.
