How do I get my lavalier wireless mic to connect to my Mac?

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) running macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 and I'm trying to use it to record audio with the Sennheiser XSW-D Portable Interview Set. It's two devices, one a transmitter that plugs into the device (my Mac) and then the actual microphone that connects to the transmitter and can be used for long-distance recording. The transmitter has a TRS jack. I've tried with both the TRS and a TRRS adapter, and have tried to set it as input in System Preferences, Audio MIDI Setup, GarageBand, everything I can think of. No matter what I do, the microphone is only ever recognized as external headphones and I don't have the option to set it as audio input. Does anyone have experience with this type of wireless mic or know a way to manually make it the audio input beyond what I already tried?

Thank you so much,

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

I looked into your Sennheiser XSW-D Portable Interview Set. Although it has a USB cable, audio is not passed to or from a computer via that USB cable. The USB cable only charges the unit. Check the FAQ and the Operations Manual on the Sennheiser site.

The audio output of the device appears to be balanced analog audio, intended to be connected via XLR to a mixing console. Macs no longer have analog audio inputs (they were dropped 7+ years ago). You would need an analog audio-to-digital converter to connect the Sennheiser to your Mac.
