I bought a song on iTunes yesterday, with the goal of exporting it as an MP3 and putting it on my son's music player. I can download it to my computer, and I tried to follow the steps in this article: Convert a song to a different file format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
However, the option "Create MP3 Version" is greyed out.
