Found an old LaCie external drive with only 2 firewire ports (picture below).
So the question is: how can I connect my old drive to my new Mac M1 that has just 2 USB-C ports?
(can't find any adapter ...)

wow that's old. Those are firewire-400 ports, and the circular one is likely a Mac serial port that predates USB.
There is a set of adapters and cable you could use, but added up, these cost more than a new enclosure, and far more than a simple USB stunt-adapter direct to the drive.
You would need the Apple ThunderBolt-3 <-> ThunderBolt-2 adapter, about US$50.

If there is any kind of "regular" drive inside, this sort of an adapter (no enclosure, you just lay the parts out on your bench) is an appropriate response to "finding" such and old drive:
