Pages, Numbers & Keynote do not upload to iCloud from MacBook Pro

I would really appreciate some help with this problem. I can't seem to solve it on my own, and I haven't found a solution on-line.

Good: Calendar, Reminders & Notes all sync properly with iCloud.

Bad:   Pages, Numbers & Keynote files do not upload to iCloud

Facts: 

-OS 10.14.6 (Mojave)

-Pages & Numbers versions 10.1

-2013 MacBook Pro

-iCloud, Pages and Numbers boxes in system preferences are all checked.

-Saved Pages and Numbers files appear in their proper location on the computer’s desktop Finder window (iCloud - Pages).

-Files open properly when selected from their iCloud location in the Finder window.

-Files are listed in the Finder with a small cloud behind them.

-MacBook is properly connected to the internet (otherwise Calendar, Reminders and Notes would not sync).

-MacBook is connected to the correct Apple iCloud account ( “ ).

-Programs listed on the same system preferences checkbox page as Pages and Numbers do not upload either. (I have not tried them all.)

-Saving files to the same iCloud account with a 2013 iMac, using the same network and OS, Pages and Numbers versions works properly.

-Reinstalling Pages and Numbers did not solve the problem.

-Rebooting the MacBook did not solve the problem.
