I find this baffling, but I simply cannot type the semicolon (the symbol ; ) on a MacBook Pro 2021 with the Hungarian - 101 key keyboard. I have checked the settings that show what keys are used for which character (under Keyboard -> Input Sources), but the semicolon is simply non-existent.
So yeah, the question is in the title. How can I write a semicolon on this keyboard setup?

It's pretty easy to make a custom layout that adds this key with Ukelele.
(I could do this a couple minutes if you know where you want it).

Use the Keyboard Viewer on Mac - Apple Support
Put the ,keylayout file in library/keyboard layouts and then activate in system prefs/keyboard/input sources. Look in the Others category

You have a MacBook with a qwerty keyboard? I thought all Apple machines only came with Hungarian qwertz. Could you post a picture of the keyboard?
The hardware is qwertz but I use the qwerty layout. It's what I'm used to. So where there's physically a Z, if I push it, it writes a Y.

How do I use this? It looks like an XML file, Mac doesn't recognize it. I still think it's crazy not to have a semicolon by default on the software-QWERTY layout on MacBooks for Hungarian.
Did that work in the end? Apple's own Hungarian Qwerty seems really odd.
