F1 TV app, Subscription through iTunes Store, New subscription does not show in F1 TV app

I have previous subscribed to a service from the “F1 TV’ app; a lower tier service called F1 "TV Access Annual (1 Year)" which is worth $41.99.

Today, I tried to upgrade the subscription from my iPhone > iCloud > Manage Subscriptions and I have chosen "F1 TV Pro Annual (FT)" which is worth $99.99

In Managed subscription it shows that I am on the higher tier plan already. Purchase history shows a refund of the lower tier (old subscription) and the purchase of the higher tier new subscription being active until next year.

However, when I login to the F1 TV app, my new plan / upgrade does not show in the app. Using the restore purchases function, it still shows my old subscription “F1 TV Access” rather than "F1 TV Pro"

Have reached out to F1 TV but they still believe Apple is best to help because this purchase was done through you. Would the upgrade/change have flowed through to F1 TV?

Apple App Store treat itself as a platform but not the middle man…no service and nothing helpful. If there is a choice I will never subscribe anything through an iPhone app…one thing seems to be true always, cut out the middle man.

I ended up getting refund from Apple and that’s all I cared about at that points. Then I subscribed again directly on F1 TV website

Purchased subscription through Apple, tried contacting Apple for support twice. They pretty much sent me away and said it’s not Apple’s problem. Told me to go to F1 TV. F1 TV said apple’s the “middle man” in this case. Transaction is with Apple so ask Apple for help. I agree with F1 TV to some extent. Anyway I think it’s easier to get a refund. Don’t go through the middle man.

I said I made purchased the subscription but I did not give me the service intended. Refunding was more straightforward then fixing it.

I think I used the apple support chat. They probably send me to a place or a form where I can apply for refund. Had to wait for a couple of days but it was relatively straight forward.

My issue is slightly different. I have renewed my pro subscription last year in July via Apple. It all worked great until this week where the restore purchase option does not appear unless logged in.

When I login with my f1 account and choose to restore, it returns that I do not have any purchases to restore even though, in my apple subscription it clearly states that my subscription is active until July 28, 2022.

Same issue myself. I thought my subscription expired a couple weeks ago when I went to watch some pre season practice as they were all showing locked. I renewed in my phone thinking nothing of it only to get an email from F1 TV a week later saying my subscription was going to auto renew soon. I got confused. Contacted F1 and no one understood what I was talking about. Finally I had them cancel my renewal thinking I would be good since I already bought a “renewal” on my phone. Now today I have no subscription! And shocker Apple support isn’t doing anything about it. As a shareholder and long time apple user this is unacceptable and Shameful.
