Windows icloud photos do not upload images and label them as "excluded (not synced)"

Hello

I have 1.7TB free in icloud, but when I upload my 200GB of images and videos to icloud photos through icloud for windows, I see that there are many images and videos left without uploading.

When I am looking in windows explorer, I see that the status for these is "excluded (not synced)".

what is the reason for this?

because I have space. Could it be that it detects that they are duplicates?, because it does not indicate any reason

How do I get them to sync?

Regards

Andres

Hello there aprevitali,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

We see the photos you're adding to your iCloud folder isn't uploading to iCloud on your PC. To get started, are you following the specific steps as shown here under the "Upload your photos and videos to iCloud Photos" section? Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC

If so, what format are those photos in and where did they come from? For example, are they downloaded from an iOS device, a digital camera, saved from the internet?

You can also test by going to the iCloud website in a web browser and seeing if you can upload single photos there. That can help rule out an issue with a specific photo.

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.

Andrés,

Thanks for sharing those additional details with us.

To confirm, the photos and videos were originally synced with iCloud Photos from your iPhone, were downloaded to your PC, and are not showing any longer?

If you view your iCloud Photos through the iCloud website, do you see the non-uploaded photos there?

If you have any other devices with iCloud Photos enabled, check for the content there, as well.

Should the photos not appear on iCloud or any devices, export them from iCloud for Windows, delete them, then reimport them again.

Regards.

Hello.

Answering your question one by one.

1. Follow the steps shown here in the "Upload your photos and videos to iCloud Photos" section

2. Most of the photos are JPEG from Iphone 5s. Downloaded from previous icloud file (set to keep full quality)

3. I just tried with just 1 photo using the iCloud website in a web browser, with the same result, but now with the message the image is duplicated

Therefore, the question is whether all photos and avi/mp4 videos is the same situation.

Because there is no error message or information from icloud for windows.

Regards

Andrés
