M1 Macbook Pro recovery mode no Wifi icon

I've erased my disk so I don't have an OS to boot to. I used a personal hotspot to activate the mac but after that the wifi icon is gone and I can't change the wifi anymore. I don't have an ethernet connection either and I don't have a USB to create a bootable disk. Is there any way for me to change the wifi so I don't have to download the entire OS with my personal hotspot?

Seems like a dilemma. An idea may be to use the Time Machine backup

on an external USB drive, of your Mac's system. That would be automatic

and backup its own external drive(s).

The wi-fi should be enabled through keyboard options, at startup.

Perhaps another participant may see this, and offer a resolution.
