Dock is not autohiding on startup

My settings are to keep it on autohide always. But everytime I restart, the dock stays there without autohiding. I saw something called FixMe opening on startup, which does not seem to be in the list of applications which are starting up during login. Neither is it part of the list of applications I have. Does anyone know what this FixMe is about?

Suggest starting from the first point below and work your way down, testing before moving to next and test again.

1 - Suggest restarting in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

3 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.

4 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then this appears to be a System Wide issue.

5 - Suggest downloading the Application Etrecheck directly from a well Respected ASC Contributor. And Safe to use.

The application is free or paid from added features.

Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ).

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This includes AntiVirus, Disk Cleaners, Disk Optimizes, UnInstaller etc.

This will include CleanMyMac , This will include BitDefender

This will included Norton Antivirus , Sophos Av Software

Intego AntiVirus, McAfee, MacKeeper, Avast AntiVirus

Ad Guard, Webroot

The The Built in Security  is all that is required.

Fixme...? Like this=https://www.techinline.com/

Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls ...

If you suspect you have installed adware/malware:

>System Preferences>Profiles click into it and then remove all the suspicious things from the list. (This Preference pane will not be present if no profiles found.)

also Verify you are not using SOCKS proxy:

>System Preferences>Networks>Advanced>Proxy uncheck the box

Adware/malware launch daemons can set SOCKS proxies without user participation.

(SOCKS is an Internet protocol that exchanges network packets between a client and server through a proxy server.)

This is one of the worst piece of garbage you can install: CleanMyMac

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

all known to cause issues on the macOS

third party software

Look for any built in or in-app uninstaller and use that. If in doubt refer to the developers website; Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/compatibility/updates:

Contact a third party vendor

Q - Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed that could be adware and should be reviewed.

A - Using unsigned Software runs the risk if possible Adware / Malware and or Incompatible with Monterey

Q - More than one antivirus app - This computer has multiple antivirus apps installed.

A - Any Third Party Antivirus Software is needed

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

The Only thing this Antivirus software is protecting is the Bank Account of the Developers and for zero return to the User aside from the problems this software creates.

The The Built in Security  is all that is required to protect the computer.

Q - High battery cycle count - Your battery may be losing capacity.

 Battery: Health = Normal - Cycle count = 1060

A - Batteries are considered Consumable Products. Over time it will degrade to a point where it needs to be replaced. The usage is normal as the capacity will go up and down all the time and never stay always at 100%. Apple Batteries are rated for 1000 Full Battery Cycles and / or 80% Capacity before needing Evaluation or replacement.

Q - System modifications - There are a large number of system modifications running in the background

A - Large System Modification runs the risk of unintended consequences included malfunctions, crashes and the like plus possibly related to the Disk Issue

Q - CleanMyMac, and Malwarebytes

A - CleanMyMac is the Jackpot ( on these Forums ) of harmful Applications that may modify, alter, remove and otherwise create havoc including the Dock Issue.

Be away , even after the CMM is removed as per Developers Instructions, a Reinstallation maybe required in the attempt to undo some of the damages this software has done to the computer

This will include CleanMyMac

Is is suggested reading some of the first 600 posting specific to CMM
