CarPlay and delayed voice calls

I’ve read other post and see this is not a new problem from as fas back as 2015 others have complained what’s upsetting is it’s 2022 and I’ve been having this issue since 2021 as well as others I’ve spoke to and it’s beyond annoying to not be able to hold a conversation with CarPlay. Bluetooth works perfectly fine but then you don’t have the benefit of the other features of CarPlay so what’s the point and when is Apple going to address this issue!!!

Good day to you Tiffofny,

We’d like to get some more specifics on what you’re encountering. Are you unable to make and receive calls using CarPlay? Some vehicles support CarPlay via Bluetooth or USB, are you strictly using USB for your vehicle? Is the notification delayed, the ability to answer or make a call or something else?

Some basic troubleshooting and isolating steps you can take, if you haven’t already are:

  • Test via a different connection method, if supported by your vehicle and/or with a different USB cable
  • Test in a different vehicle or with a different device in your vehicle
  • Make sure your device is up to date (iOS 15.3.1 is the latest for iPhone 6s and later)
  • Make sure your vehicle’s head unit is up to date
  • Forget your vehicle from your iPhone (Settings > General > CarPlay), forget your iPhone from your vehicle and then reconnect
  • Restart your iPhone

If you need help with CarPlay

Thanks.
