Or you know.... NO. Maybe Apple doesn't need to force this BS 2fa on everyone?
I'm the family administrator of ALL the tech my family uses. Just a short list, that would mean:
6 apple laptops
6 apple TVs
3 apple watches
5 ipads
8 iphones
No I do NOT need to be forced into using 2FA for this many devices, thanks. It does NOT enhance security, as any number of banking apps that *when used from the device itself* text that *same* device for a "second" authorization! That's not more secure. 2FA is a fig leaf and does not enhance security. The emailed login warnings that a new signon happened, THAT does more for security.
Why also does a one-time-use code have to be 6 digits? Where is that "more" secure (it isn't) than 2, 3, or 4? The system won't accept more than one reply input anyway, so you can't brute-force it. Why not make it any 23 digit prime number as the code if "more" is more secure?
It all falls apart if you think about it logically. Just blindly saying to someone "Well just sign up for 2FA then" is insulting. We each have our reasons for not wanting this crap forced on us. It isn't Apple's job to force people into something they clearly don't want for whatever reason.
