Airpods only play through left ear on macbook pro

Airpods will only play through the left ear when connected to my Macbook Pro but play fine through both ears on my iPhone. The sound levels are even between the left and right AirPods. Both AirPods will connect to my MacBook. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting my AirPods that didn't help. I already went to the apple store to get my AirPods looked at for this issue and they fixed it by replacing one of my airpods. But now the issue is back again about a month later.
