Can a close-case damage my iphone?

I bought this “survival” case for my iphone which is closed. Been using it for two weeks and noticed sound is not the same with the case on (which consists of two pieces, closing the phone completely).

Sound is more crisp and cleaner without it.

My question is,

does it damage the performance of my iphone-speaker on the long-run? Should I change my case?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

Based on the photo you provided, it looks like that case doesn't have the proper speaker cut out for your iPhone.

I suggest that you look for a case here: iPhone Cases & Protection - iPhone Accessories - Apple.
