Font Help: I can't seem to use some of the glyphs in the Trattetello font family

How can I insert glyphs that show in my Font Book but won't allow me to 'copy and paste' into a document or design software? The particular glyph I'm trying to use does not have an assigned unicode associated with it. Do I have any options?

I've tried using it in Pages and inserting it into a program called Lightburn. Neither destination works. Other glyphs work and many others do not.

I'm on a Mac Pro using Monterey updated to12.2.1.

Most apps will only display unicode characters these days. TextEdit rtf format will also display things on the basis of their "glid" or glyph id in the specified font if they have no unicode number. You can see the code if you open the rtf file as plain text to show the internal coding.

So, is there any way to get these glyphs to work on other design software or am I just stuck without using certain glyphs? I know a work around would be to do a screen shot and then a trace image but I was hoping for an easier less time consuming option. ;)

Thanks!

In Pages, type the character " & " (shift 7) with Trattatello and select it.

Open the typography panel and go to the bottom where it says Glyph Variants and see you are offered the version you want.

Ideally you should be able to choose one of those variants and have it display in the text. Unfortunately I think this feature is buggy in Pages. Whether it will work in another app you will have to test.

It has four options but won't allow me to choose one. I can click on one of the four but then the typography window disappears and the character remains the default.

Could you provide a picture of this glyph? Is it perhaps accessible via the Typography settings (Format > Font > Show Fonts > Gear Wheel > Typography?

Will it drag/drop into TextEdit?
