Apple Air Tag Battery Draining Abnormally Fast

I activated my Airtag soon after I received it as a Christmas gift. In the middle of February, the airtag listed as "low battery" so I replaced it promptly. Now, only a month later, I am receiving the same message. Is there any way to resolve this issue or can I get the Airtag replaced if there's nothing I can do? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hello there LMunga,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

To get started, are you sure you're using brand new batteries? If not, try purchasing brand new still in the package high quality CR2032 batteries. Batteries can expire or lose power over time: How to replace the battery in your AirTag

Otherwise, also try resetting your AirTag and set it up again: How to reset your AirTag

If issues persist, then the issue may be with the AirTag itself. If that's the case, you may need to contact Apple Support for additional service options.

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.
