iOS 15.4 Battery Drain
Is anyone experiencing battery drain since updating their iPhone to iOS 15.4? I am considering updating this morning and have seen this be an issue with other updates in the past.

iOS 15.4.1 is out , just NOW !!!!! holy ****: tech spec say: fix for battery drain ... for god sake, APPLE !!!
iphone 13 pro, battery health is 100%
I can clearly see that there is a battery drain after the update to 15.4
it’s been like that for few days now and I didn’t had problems like that before last update
Thank You for the post. I charged my devices (watch and phone 13pro) on my Belkin multi magsafe charger during the update and not only does the battery die faster, but the charger seems sluggish and takes forever to recharge both devices. I was starting to wonder if it was my charger. The watch takes forever to charge and before the update charged quickly on the new Belkin MagSafe charger. Glad I am not alone.
After updating iPhone 8 to 15.4, battery drains normally to 30%-35% then phone shuts down. Battery usage by app doesn't show anything going crazy (see screenshots). Level shows 12% after connecting to charger and restart. Battery capacity at 94% with no notice that shutdown was due to inability to support peak performance. Tried quitting all apps and forced shutdown/restart with no effect. Any ideas folks?
If the battery is failing wouldn't the notice about "unexpected shutdown because the battery was unable to deliver the necessary peak power" and applying performance management appear under Battery Health?
15.4.1 is out.
"This update includes the following bug fixes for your iPhone:
Battery may drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS 15.4"
So I guess it wasn't all just temporary reindexing and would get better in 48 hours.
Apple's engineers are smart. I'm sure they knew they had a genuine problem within hours of 15.4's release. These bugs that only manifest for certain configurations of hardware and software can be hard to find and hard to fix. I understand that, and would cut them slack for it. It's the denial and obfuscation that diminish my respect for Apple. Why not just acknowledge there's an issue and tell us they're working on it?
I have an iphone 12 and still on ios 15.1.1 I have delayed updating the system because of all the reported battery drain issues. I saw this post about "This update includes the following bug fixes for your iPhone:
Battery may drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS 15.4"
Was model is your iphone ? Wondering if this applies to iphone 12, I do not see that in the 15.4.1 update notes for my iphone 12. Just wondering if it's safe to update my phone now.
Thanks for any more info.
Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll just stick to 15.1.1 for now even if it is risky not to update any vulnerabilities that an update might fix. I still have 100% battery health and my iphone 12 is 10 months old and I get pretty good battery usage.
I'm not very optimistic that Apple will fix the battery issue.
Thanks again.
Kyle thanks for keeping us informed. Sorry to hear this but definitely helps out. Makes me feel safer with my decision to stay with 15.1.1. If anything changes please let us know if you have the time. Yeah I was on Android for years before my son convinced me to try Apple again last year. Bad time to switch.
Thanks again.

same problem ad getting worse - ipnone updates are supposed to mprove things not make iphones less efficient.
Thanks for the info/update. I'm just staying on ios 15.1.1 and taking the security risk. I need my phone to work for text and calls. It needs to last more than a couple of hours. We really need to have folks stop asking what our battery health is because many of us have 100% on our batteries, that's not the problem. Apple needs to fix the problem.

have you tried looking in your background refresh settings? Usually if they are all on it’ll cause battery to drain a lot quicker as ea app is trying to update/refresh all at the same time.
Yes sir just in case you're asking me, one of the first things that is turned off. Thanks
I also noticed this thing
