Bought a new MacBook Air with thunderbolt ports and a USB-C to USB adapter. Attached the adapter to the USB end of my headphones and plugged into a port on my computer. Sound still comes out of computer, not the headphones- what can be done to make this work?

If your USB headphone is supported by macOS, System Preferences > Sound > Output, then select USB headphone should works.

You have to use the little circular audio port: 3.5 mm headphone jack
