Apple watch heart rate monitor

I upgraded to an AW7 in January. The HR monitor is very inconsistent about recording my heart rate during workouts. Sometimes it doesn't record at all and other times it does record but I get Chart Unavailable. I know that it has recorded my heart rate during the workout because the other health apps on my phone are able to access the data and show my heart rate during the workouts.

What's going on? Do I have to delete those apps to get the Workout app to show me the data?

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
