Apple Music Family: "recently played" and suggestions of two separate users being confused

Hello.

I am the "organizer" of a Apple Family Sharing plan. My wife's music history and suggestions are now appearing in my app, most visibly on the Music app on my iPhone and on Apple CarPlay.

We are using separate Apple IDs, she is listed as an "adult" member of the family plan.

How do we prevent this from happening?

iPhone XR, iOS 14

Thanks for reaching back out jamesbrownontheroadh,

It is possible that you're seeing those results because you follow each other on Apple Music. Does this look like what you're running into: See what friends are listening to in Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device

Let's also go to: Music app > Listen Now tab > Tap your icon in the upper right corner to get to the Account page > Tap Account Settings at the bottom. This will bring you to a page where you can see the Apple ID you're using with Apple Music. If you both see your own correct Apple ID there, you can use this link to reach out to Apple Support, for further assistance.

Best regards.

Hello jamesbrownontheroad,

We'd first recommend checking to see if you have an Apple Music family subscription enabled rather than an individual. Check that through these steps: Get an Apple Music family subscription

We'd also recommend checking to see if Shared Purchases is enabled as described here: If you can't find your family's shared content

These steps should help to get that cleared up.

Take care!
