Why verification on opening app on osx
Often when I open, for exemple, Excel a verification is started that take a lot of time before the app is active.
Why?

That is a security feature. The entire app has to be scanned to ensure it hasn't been tampered with. This can be a problem for apps that are frequently auto-updated like Microsoft Office. The problem is worse if you have an older computer with a slow, mechanical hard drive.
