When I click save as on powerpoint it doesn't open anything up. Try to use shortcut buttons nothing pops up. I want to turn comp off and on but have imp documents don't want to lose my notes on. I really need to save them. I can click save and it says "saved" but Where is it saving to? It doesn't let me put on computer.

if no "save as" try holding the Option key while you choose the menu with Save on it.
you might be able to use Spotlight (magnifying glass icon) to search for the name of the file you might have saved.
if you find one, click ONCE to select but do not open it.

see if Command-Option-S brings up save-AS.
If you have a "Save AS" option, use that and watch where it wants to put it by default. Chances are that is where your documents are being saved by default.

they were saved on some weird thing on my school's powerpoint drive odd. I bit the bullet and just restarted. We all good. thanks so much for your effort!
I had the save as button it just didn't pull up anything somehow the button is gone now. I clicked option while I tried looking for save on it and also after tried the key command up S and nothing pulled up still. So strange.

is another directory. But its is not on my Mac, it is on my Home Server in the basement, where I sometimes store my documents.
I also have this problem. It's a brand new macbook pro, with an updated operating system. If I go to a website and right click on an image, then click "Save as" no destination option is shown and it's completely unclear whether it download or where it has gone. As I don't know the name of the file, I have no idea how to search for where it's saved. This new MacOS is really frustrating, honestly, especially the changes to music/i-tunes and I wish I hadn't bought a new laptop.

I was able to move them to documents than from files but not sure how to save also one of the files I got from a friend via email and cannot find it
to save an email attachment, open the email again, and slide the pointer just under the T: line. You should see an attachments 'paper-clip' symbol that will allow you to save-as wherever you like.
