Not able to see voicemail messages on my iPhone Xr
I have an iPhone Xr running iOS 15.3.1, and I could no longer see my voicemail messages list in the phone app, as I have been able to do before. I contacted my GSM carrier for help and we tried several things:
- Turn off/turn on
- Hard reset (without erasing data)
- Turn off, remove SIM card, replace SIM, restart
- Updated to iOS 15.4
Nothing helped. I am still able to access voicemail recordings by dialing my own number (or holding “1” on the keypad) and entering my password, but I’ve lost the ability to see my list of voicemails. When I open the phone app, and tap on the voicemail icon, I get a white screen that says “To retrieve a voicemail first set a password and greeting.” with a “Set Up” button under that. I already have both password and greeting set up, but I tried several times to go through the set up motions anyway, entered my password twice, but instead of saving the password, I get a “Voicemail Unavailable, could not authorize access.” message. I’ve uploaded images if that helps.
I have no idea what to try next. Is anyone else having similar issues?
