NTFS for MAC error
After installing this update, my NTFS for Mac doesn't works. Why?
I gave it full disk access in Security/Privacy, but it sees my drives only in read mode. Cannot mount.

Now Paragon has replied too (support email). Looks like they will not provide an update, and will instead wait for Apple to fix it in a next macOS update....
After the latest macOS 10.15.7 Catalina Security Update 2022-003 (19H1824),
issues have been reported with mounting NTFS volumes using the NTFS for
Mac driver. The Development team were able to reproduce and confirm the
issue. We expect it to be fixed in the next macOS updates.
For now, the following workaround can be tried:
1) Make sure you're using Microsoft NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software build 15.9.314
It can be downloaded from the ParagonBox user portal if you have a license registered there or directly from the site:
https://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/
Be sure to uninstall any previous versions as described below:
https://kb.paragon-software.com/article/4500
2) Connect the drive containing the NTFS partition, and make sure the partition is not mounted.
3) Open the Terminal utility (Application -> Utilities -> Terminal) and perform the following command to create a mountpoint:
sudo mkdir /Volumes/ntfs
4) Run the following command:
diskutil list
and note the NTFS partition (disk0s3, for instance)
5) Run the following command to mount it:
sudo /Library/Filesystems/ufsd_NTFS.fs/Contents/Resources/mount_ufsd_NTFS
/dev/diskXsY /Volumes/ntfs
where diskXsY - the NTFS partition from the previous step
(for instance)
sudo /Library/Filesystems/ufsd_NTFS.fs/Contents/Resources/mount_ufsd_NTFS
/dev/disk0s3 /Volumes/ntfs
My NTFS drives worked perfectly before this update, and now won’t mount. I use neither fixers nor paragon. It’s the Catalina update that is the issue.
After re-installing Catalina did you install security update 2022-03 again?

You sure it doesn't mount in read-only?
I already deleted Paragon since i was only using it to test this issue. However, since uninstalling Paragon and rebooting, I can at least mount NTFS drive as read only.
Yep. Agree. All but one HDD are now operational. I'm waiting to hear back from Paragon regarding the "Bad Vendor" error for my Silicon Power HDD. I may just recover it to copy data from the other 5T HDD if I don't get a workable response from Paragon. Cheers.
I have the same problem. Here they suggested checking the disk in Safe Mode, NTFS is not visible. I have a second OS on the same computer and this is the original Snow Leopard where all NTFS formatted disks are served and edited using Tuxera Disk Manager.
But like everyone else in MACOS CATALINA does not allow mounting and, accordingly, the disk is not visible in the Finder. Mounting instructions in Terminal via
sudo nano /etc/fstab
LABEL = Tracy none ntfc rw,auto, nobrowse
don't help. Useless!
re-installed Catalina again, drives are showing but write protected... so some progress but not where it should be.
Patch 003 is still showing as pending and Macbook (2014 MBPro) is set to prevent auto-update.
Maybe delete and re-install Paragon? version is 15.5.106
Happy evening everyone
Thanks for the notice.
I finally update today Catalina 10.15.7 (MacBook Pro 15 pouces, mi-2012) with the 2022-004 patch.
My external 2To Seagate formatted in NTFS is readable and writable normally without the need of paragon software.
🙏 Thanks to the developers that produced this patch.
Is there someone to confirme that after the 2022-004 patch the ntfs external hard drives are readable and writable without the need of paragon software or any other ntfs softwares?
For me it works fine without paragon but i wonder a bit if some other ntfs softwares that I installed and removed during the fault finding are still on my mac and make it works.
I do experience the same issue and I'm not using Pragon but Tuxera. Multiple other users on reddit and tidbits are reporting this too.
I don't use paragon and face the same issue. It's update's fault, not paragon's.
FWIW, I'm seeing the same issue. I formatted a USB Thumb drive as NTFS on a Windows laptop and it won't mount on an iMac after the last security update.
Edit: it mounts in Monterey.
I did it, no reply yet. I'm waiting...

Will be interesting to see what they say. From what I can tell, the security update broke NTFS access.
Don't have Catalina installed to test…
