Apple Watch 7 slow charging with Belkin BoostCharge PRO after 8.5

Considering Apple sell it on their site directly (at a not-cheap price), I would be surprised if they don't pull their finger out on this one. Shame it didn't make the last bug fix, but perhaps its a non-trivial issue.

I'm sure Apple are already aware. It has been reported by numerous tech news sites.

I would guess that it affects every Apple Watch S7 with 8.5.1. So I don't think Apple will have a problem regenerating the issue.

After updating the Apple Watch 7 to WhatchOS 8.5.1 it stopped fast charging with Belkin BoostCharge PRO. It used to charge very fast and now is very very very slow . Any idea of how to solve this issue?

I would not call those steps "trouble shooting" but workarounds and they only mitigate the "issue" they don't resolve it.

The "Re-Seat" method is the easiest and works consistently, the other two don't work all the time in my experience.

thread jacking? there isnt exactly a thread for the original charger issue after the update i just got a new usb-c charging cord, and i am using using a third party charger still a delay i will gladly put up a thread addressing this issue then and the power adapters are brand new

Yes, threadjacking. The people with the Belkin's have a serious issue and posting things that are unrelated dilutes the thread. If you can't find a thread regarding the problem you are having then you start your own thread.

Can you post again in about 24 hours to confirm that it’s fixed for you and not a fluke?

what do you attribute the fix to? What changed? I haven’t seen a watch update past 8.5.1 and obviously the belkin charger doesn’t update.

I feel ripped off. I bought the Belkin charger only a few months ago. Everything worked great with my AWS7/Hermes and then the update. Seeing all of this makes me feel so frustrated. I hope this gets fixed. My Belkin charger worked great and is now useless for my watch…the item I bought it for!

LMAO. I just checked my watch and it didn’t go up a single percent in 15 min. So yeah, you’re right.

I contacted Apple, and they pretended as if they never knew it was an issue. That makes me mad. Yet they took $150 from me no problem 🫤

I Was at Apple Store Aventura (Miami-FL) yesterday April, 19 2022. They still selling this broke device and there is no warning about it. Spoke with Belkin support and they surprise me that they DO NOT KNOW this issue!!!!

I wouldn't mind, but there are three other posts here that have not been removed. If they are going to enforce this pointless restriction, they should at least do it consistently.

I was going to do the beta, until I read you cannot roll the OS back from beta. Only forward to the next public release. I'll just tough it out till its public. Thanks for feedback that it's fixed in beta.

The reason they are deleted is when you sign up for the Public Beta you agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that you will not discuss it in public. This is a public area and it violates the Terms of Use you agreed to here.

Wow! I’m trying to install the beta and only have the 3-in-1 station handy at the moment. I am trying to charge to 50%. It went from 39% down to 30% without me noticing. The moment I did, I took a screenshot and seconds later checked again and it went to 28%, meaning it dropped 2% in a short moment while on the charger.

🔌 So far it took me almost 4h to go from 19%->39%->30%->28%… wonder whether I make it to 50%…

I am optimistic the beta will fix this issue, will report back if not. Hang in there!
