How to stop Pages from breaking tables to different pages

I have cells with a long text that run to the next page, and Pages move the whole cell to the next page instead of splitting the cell at the end of the page.

I have seen solutions in forums, but those answers don't seem to work in 2022 anymore.

Pages splits tables between rows of cells.

I don't recall its behaviour being different since version 5.x, the first of the post '09 versions.

The only workaround I'm aware of is to insert a new row below the one that is being moved to the next page, then move enough of the text in each cell of the original row to the same column of the new row to make the split occur at a point that makes sense.

This will, of course, work only when the text and other content above the table is stable. Any change in the amount of space required by that content will require revision of the location of text in the split row of the table.

Can you provide links to the solutions you've seen in other forums? I'd be interested in seeing them, if only to find out which Pages versions they worked in.

Barry
