You don't. As this Apple Support document says, "You can't redeem Apple Gift Cards or App Store & iTunes Gift Cards outside of the country or region of purchase." As Niel says, you may be able to change the country of your Apple ID, but that is a major change. You wouldn't want to do that for a single gift card. If you are physically immigrating to the US and don't plan to return to Canada, then that might be worth changing the country of your Apple ID. I strongly recommend you contact Apple directly before changing your country.

i am in the U.S. I bought an apple gift card and want to redeem it for gaming. i have the Canadian apple store and when I try to redeem my card it says must be redeemed in the U.S. apple store
