My download folder has disappeared on my new mac book pro-2021? "No folder found?" I looked at the TIME MACHINE Backup and the download folder was greyed out and had a weird date on it? I've called, I've chatted and this was sent to the Apple engineers? I haven't heard back.

You can always reinstall the macOS on top of your existing macOS to sort anomalies. You have choices, here you want to preserve your user data by simply refreshing the macOS.
