Photo screen saver not working

I just got a new iMac M1 and the photos screen saver will not work. It keeps saying no photos. All other screen savers work correctly. My previous iMac Intel worked correctly with the photos. I migrated the photos from it to my new computer. Both have the most current version of MacOS Monterey installed.

Any ideas?

Hello Rich Cunningham,

If you don't have another user account , you would want to set one up to test. Here's the steps to set up a user.

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Once you have another user account set up you'll want to go into that one and test out the screen saver to see if it works or not. This will help you to isolate if the issue is a system wide software problem, or if it's just some sort of setting or configuration issue in your specific user account.

Cheers!

Thank you for keeping us posted.

We recommend that you check if the issue persists when signed in on a different user account.

The article below can help if you do not have any other user account to test with.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. No I'm not syncing through the cloud, they are all resident in my Photos library on the new iMac. That is where they were on my old one. I remember when Monterrey came out there was a problem with the screensaver and photos, but it was rectified and was working on my old computer.

When I go to the screensaver setup, I select photos and then choose photo library. The pictures show up in the when I select it, but when I choose it, it goes back to the set up screen and says "No Photos". When I select Choose Folder, it shows my Pictures folder but the Photos Library.photoslibrary is grayed out.

Kinda stumped on this one.....
