iphone not showing in USB tree

My phone is continuously switching between connected and disconnected. When I looked - it suggested to check if it is showing up in USB tree. It is not. Can anyone help how to fix it?

iPhone disconnects When connecting my iPhone to my computer, in the iTunes menu after around five or six seconds my phone magically disappear from the list. However, windows still detect the phone in the device manager even after it disappears from iTunes.

iPhone not appearing in Finder When I connect my iPhone XR to my MacBook Pro USB port, the iPhone starts charging but it is blinking all the time in Finder and you can't select it to do backup, synch, or anything. I also don't get the trust this computer prompt on iPhone. Note that this happened with one of recent Mac OS updates as I used to be able to connect the same iPhone to the same Mac. Thanks, Michael
