I have a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" and the keyboard backlight stopped working. Which wouldn't me a huge issue but the touch bar is on full brightness which is very disturbing, making the laptop practically useless without an external display.
I tried the following, no luck so far:
Any other ideas?

• Even re-installed macOS Monterey

There is a >System Preferences>Keyboard>KEYBOARD backlight
If the Ambient light is strong enough there will be no back light...
The best you can do on a Intel Mac:
Try resetting the SMC How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)

I did contact Apple support, we went through a few things for about 45 minutes, the only thing left is to take it to the store.
Actually the >System Preferences>Keyboard>KEYBOARD backlight is missing for me, I know it should be there and saw it before, but now it isn't there.
