No audio with C920s and Mac Mini M1

Do you have this problem? Do you have a fix?

Mac Mini M1.

macOS Monterey 12.2.1 and now 12.3.

Logitech C920s PRO HD WEBCAM.

Video is fine. But I get no audio from the webcam.

System Preferences > Sound > Input ... lists the webcam and it is selected. But when I speak the levels indicator doesn't register anything.

The same C920s works in a 2017 iMac (macOS 12.2.1), and also with a Windows 10 laptop.

Another family members webcam works in the problem Mac Mini.

So it's not the C920s. It's not the Mac Mini. It's the C920s in the Mac Mini.

On the Mac Mini I'm plugging it into one of two of the USB-B ports. I've tried both. A wired keyboard is in the other. Nothing plugged into USB-C ports. HDMI to LG monitor. Bluetooth mouse.

I've had the Mac Mini eight days now. The webcam with Mini last worked two-days ago with Zoom.

Any ideas? Apple Support tried but they don't have an answer yet either. Thanks.

I've had the same, very strange problem with the C920S and a Mac Mini M1 under Monterey until yesterday.

After i've changed the audio frequency of the C920S to 32000Hz in Audio-Midi-Setup, everything seems to work fine.

This setting has to be done again everytime you un- and replug the webcam.

Maybe this solution also works for you.
