Hi. Is it possible to use an older Apple Cinema display with the new Mac Studio so long as you have the right adapter?

yes, exactly right.
Do not even THINK about "stack"-ing adapters.
• if the display has a single input cable, it is a ThunderBolt device and needs the Apple ThunderBolt-3 <-> Thunderbolt-2 adapter.
• If the display has an input cable with another one or more INPUT connectors on it, it is a DisplayPort device, and needs a much less expensive third-party Mini DisplayPort adapter. The ThunderBolt adapter will NOT work with a DisplayPort display.

I’ve got a monitor cable with three connectors. MiniDisplay, USB A/B, and a magnetic charging end. My adapter converts the MiniDisplay to Thunderbolt. I’ve plugged the USB into the back of my Mac Mini so I can connect USB devices to the back of the monitor.
