iPod touch car connection

Hello

I have just purchased an iPod touch from yourselves and it seems to take ages to load playlists when connected to the car.

I can see all the songs in the playlists on the iPod but not on the car, also if I choose a song on the iPod I can play it in the car.

I am not using apple play as I also want my phone to connect.

The iPod is connected via a usb c to lightning cable. This is from apple but I also have one from VW as well. The car is a Tiguan and it’s less than a year old.

when I first connected it it worked fine but after disconnecting the iPod it’s not seeing the all the songs.

I do not want to connect it wirelessly only with the usb cable.

Hi D-NandHtoo,

How long does it seem to take to load the playlists? Also, if you open the Music app and then open the Library instead of a playlist, do you see similar results?

Is this music that was synced from a computer? Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

Also, which software version are you using on the iPod? You can check under Settings > General > About.

Let us know, and have a good one.

Thanks for the update, D-NandHtoo.

Keep in mind that iPod doesn't support CarPlay and neither does iPad. This is only an iPhone feature.

To narrow down the issue, have you tried connecting via wirelessly to see if the same thing occurs with loading? While we understand you want to use the iPod, but does the same thing occur with the iPhone? Also, is the iPhone connected at the same time as the iPod? If so, does disconnecting the iPhone resolve the issue. It's possible that multiple devices connected may be causing a conflict.

Furthermore try the suggested steps in this article including trying different cables: How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car - Apple Support

Connect using USB playback
1. Restart your device and your car.
2. Make sure that your device is unlocked and on the Home screen.
3. If possible, try to connect using another cable or USB port. Check the manual that came with your car to learn how to connect an Apple device.
4. Check your charging port for any debris or damage. Make sure that your charging cable is properly inserted into the port.
5. Update your device.
6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
7. Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

Best regards.

Hello

The music was loaded onto my iPod from my iMac and I updated the software on my iPod and iMac Saturday.

As for how long it takes, I plug my iPod into the car and after 30 minutes it still doesn’t show all the song in the playlists or anywhere else I look.

If I play a playlist and have the songs listed on the screen I can see the songs loading onto the screen as I’m playing listed songs.

if the playlist is visible I only see between 1 and 3 songs and as these songs play the list will start to fill.

I’ve never had this happen with no old iPods, they just work and load instantly.

I got the iPod from your website and it arrived Saturday.

Actually like I said in my first post I’m not using CarPlay it’s just connected as a separate device.

The iPod and cable are brand new so no dirt caught up in any ports.

It is connected as a usb device.

All devices are up to date including the car as that does that over an internet connection.

Music plays it just takes forever to be seen by the car stereo.

I only had the iPod connected to the car.

The phone was turned to airplane mode.
