The Mac Studio is a small computer with much CPU power. Some people say it's silent, others have complaints that it's too noisy. It seems that the Ultra is more silent because of the better cooling system. I have read that the fans run at 1325 rpm idle which is rather fast. What are the impressions of someone who bought the Mac Studio Max? (not the Ultra)
M1 Max. While much quieter than the large windows machine it is replacing I am very disappointed that the fan is always running. When I'm doing low power tasks such as browsing the web shouldn't the system use the low-power cores and be silent? My M1 Air seems fine with that. Hopefully Apple will address this with an update.
Still mine is very quiet. Maybe just lucky.
Not everyone has this problem or doesn't address/hear it. I would like to hear another unit, but no one in the Studio area has one. The ones that have quiet units don't record sound.
The Mac Mini M1 has a speed of 1700 rpm and is barely audible. Even in sleep it spins. And there are no small holes at the exhaust.

Today the Max Studio M1 Max 32 GPU arrived. It's silent. I am very happy. The machine is great.
My Mac Studio is quiet.
It's totally unreasonable to expect the fan noise from MBA = MBP = Mac Studio = Mac Pro.
I expect the new M1 Mac Pro will have normal PC fans, and sounds louder than our Mac Studio's.
I have no high pitched sound. Only some air noise if I put my ear down by the vent. Cannot hear at all in my desk chair. I consider this unit very quiet.
I'm using 220V in Korea.
I live in Belgium. Here it's also 220 V. I don't have these problems. You should return your Mac Studio and ask for a better one. There is a return policy of 14 days. Good luck.
There are machines with the whining noise but I think most of the Mac Studio's don't have these issues.
You'll have to type louder, I cannot hear you.
There was a benefit to working around a lot of loud noises over my lifetime.
