The answer has to come from WhatsApp, which is not an Apple product, and Apple has no control over it.

But you should always use the product that best meets your needs. And there’s no point in directing empty threats at other users in this user-to-user forum with minimal Apple participation except as moderators.

If there are any SMS users (non-iPhone) in the group text you cannot add or remove anyone. This is a limitation of the SMS protocol, and has nothing to do with your iPhone.
