In the terminal of a MacBook mid-2010, macOS 10.9.5, I use this command
sudo /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app --nointeraction
But when I enter it, it tells me to put in my password, so I type it in, but when I type nothing comes after

That's normal in Terminal. Terminal shows no indication that your password is being entered. Just type it and press return.

when I write my password and hit enter then it says try again
Type the password used when the computer is started from a cold boot. ( Off )
It will not appear was you type in the Terminal command so it has to be correct the first time or the Try Again will appear again.
Also, the command you are using to create the bootable Yosemite installer is incorrect and will fail. You either need to enclose each path in double quotes, or you need to add a backslash before each space in the paths to "escape them" so the space is treated as part of the path instead of extra options.
For example, either one of these are acceptable:
sudo "/Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia" --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath "/Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app" --nointeraction
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction
When typing the password, make sure the Caps Lock is not on.
