Duplicate Chat and Members in Group Chat - Whatsapp

Since recently, every time I create a group chat on Whatsapp, every member including myself get duplicated once people start chatting. That means I have two of the same chat appearing. And when I try to delete one of the two, the two get deleted; either member or chat.

It feels like it happened after the recent IOS update 15.3.1

I can see that some people have experienced the same issue, but I cannot find a solution.
