Something is wrong with the gps on all of my maps. My location is turned on, but it only shows that I’m in the vicinity and I need for it to know my precise location. What is wrong with it?

Hey Dfn2020,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. First, make sure that precise location is turned on for the apps you mentioned.

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
  2. Tap the app, then toggle 'Precise Location' on.

Check out Control the location information you share on iPhone for further details.

If the same continues with Precise Location enabled, try the following.

"If you can't find your current location on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure that Location Services is on and that Maps is set to While Using the App or Widgets.
  2. Make sure that you set the date, time, and time zone correctly on your device. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time. If possible, use Set Automatically.
  3. Make sure that cellular data or Wi-Fi is turned on, and that you have an active connection.
  4. Restart the Maps app. Swipe up on the app and pause, then swipe up again on the app preview to close it. Then open Maps again.
  5. Restart your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.
  6. Try a different location or switch to a different Wi-Fi network."

The steps above are from If Maps isn't working on your Apple device.

Take care.
