iPhone 6S plus

I was told today by a phone technician that my Australian IPhone 6 S Plus with IOS 15.4 would not work properly when I take it to Italy and use an Italian SIM card next month. He said that this model is now superseded. When I said that I thought that was only IPhone 6 he said both. My phone is unlocked and I don’t want to replace it if I don’t need to. My research suggests he is mistaken so I would appreciate expert advice.

Check your iPhone Settings > General > About >

Model Name > ?

If you really have an iPhone 6s Plus then your technician is wrong.

You have a compatible iPhone and can update to iOS 15.4 (the latest iOS version)

FYI:

iPhone 6s Plus was discontinued in

  • September 2016 (16, 64 GB) models
  • September 2018 (32, 128 GB) models
