Magic Mouse Lost It's Magic

Ever since updating to Monterey 12.3 last monthI have been having constant issues with my Magic Mouse lagging and dragging to the point where it's impossible to get any work done.

Things I have tried over and over include: restarting, switching Bluetooth on/off, turning mouse on/off/on, removing the mouse from the Bluetooth Preferences and adding it back in, trashing the two prefs files in the Library Preferences folder (com.apple.AppleMultitouchMouse 5.26.11 PM.plist, com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse.plist) and using the sudo pkill bluetoothd command in the terminal and restarting. Nothing. Works.

This happens with any Apple Magic Mouse I connect to the Bluetooth – not just the one that all the trouble started with.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated!

Same here. Issues persist even with monterey 12.3.1. Mouse just sporadically acts weird.

  1. loses right click capability.
  2. loses bluetooth connection.
  3. acts like I am dragging and won't release drag like I am holding down the left click until i shut it off.
  4. just plain doesn't work at all, have to use trackpad.

I have 2 magic mouse (ver 2) and this behavior is the same for both. Starting to get unbearable.

IDK, have had constant issues with Monterey, more than any other OS release and I have a new M1 MBP.

Apple really needs to get their act together for what they charge for hardware.
