My iphone backup is available on my computer but itunes does not have it
itunes can't find my last iphone backup. How can itunes find my iphone backup on the computer?

Did you create a backup on your computer, using iTunes, and move the backup to an external drive after that?
If you check the default location on your computer, can you see the backup folder?
