Restarting Macbook before fully charged during update - bad for battery?

I was updating to Monterey and the battery wasn't fully charged but plugged in. At some point it needed to restart the computer. I don't normally unplug or shut down until the battery is at 100%. In this case, it just automatically re-started when when the software update was installed. Is this bad?

It's a Macbook Air Retina (2020).

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

No.

There is never a need to try and micromanage the charging process.

If you are at a desk, or near an AC outlet, leave it attached to the charge circuit.
