Wondering if there is an easy solution to my iPhone toggling between cars while following my wife. her phone is primary on her car but when I’m following her or she’s following me my apple car play disconnects and her car picks it up.

Is the name on both iPhones the same? If so, try changing one of the names on either device. To do so, go to Settings > General > About > Name.
