Slow WiFi on iPhone 12

I’ve got an iPhone 12, running 15.3.1. The WiFi performance is terrible. I’ve got 300Mbps Internet service, but my iPhone is consistently getting ~4Mbps download performance, measured with Speedtest app by Ookla. Occasionally if I turn on airplane mode and turn off WiFi , wait a bit, turn airplane mode off and re-enable WiFi I will get the 300Mbps performance as expected. Doing web search indicates that this a common problem? Any permanent solutions to this issue?

Contact also your internet provider.

Guess it wasn't clear, other devices - i.e. my MacBook are getting the expected WiFi throughput. My router (Amplifi) has it's own speed test utility, it's getting the expected throughput. I don't believe the problem is my router or service provider network. I've more than a little experience setting up networks. Password "strength" has zero to do with network throughput issues. If there were network setup issues the iPhone wouldn't ever see the expected throughput, yet it does occasionally. This problem is unique to the iPhone. If there was a service provider issue the MacBook would have similar issues, it doesn't.
